Building the canonical guide for API modernization.
Developer-First Engineering & Architecture Guides
01Origin Story
In 2024, our founding engineering team observed a critical gap in software architecture documentation: while tutorials for building brand-new "greenfield" APIs were everywhere, practical blueprints for refactoring complex legacy enterprise monoliths without breaking downstream clients were virtually nonexistent.
RenovateAPI was created to fill that gap. We set out to publish battle-tested, zero-downtime refactoring strategies (such as the Strangler Fig pattern, OpenAPI contract testing, and unified API gateways) that senior developers and technical architects could put into production immediately.
02Mission & Core Values
Code Verification
Every code snippet and configuration manifest is benchmarked in a sandbox environment before publication. Zero unverified pseudocode.
Inverted Pyramid AEO
We structure every section with a self-contained direct answer first, optimizing for both developer scanability and AI retrieval.
Backwards Compatibility
We advocate for zero breaking changes in production API migrations through rigid contract testing and gateway routing.
